I looked out

the window

new perspective

down from the floor

I could see the blue sky

more clearly than – you know

overhead

I saw

the hands

of the clock

tick-ticking in circles

tick-ticking away

is it ten?

eleven?

FOUR?!

hours on YouTube

hours reading books I don’t need

hours on finding something to eat

the panic increasing

blank page

nothing to show

is it too late to start over?

do something new?

something that doesn’t require

thoughts

or ideas

or words on the page?

I wrote this

could this be it?

a future in words?

maybe

making a meaningful pause
